Snatch, a rose by any other name…

I’ve been in SL over 2 years and one of the first stores I stumbled across as a newb was Sn@tch. Over the past two years I’ve watched Ivey’s talent grow in her designing, coming up with some great clothing pieces. But that is not what I want to talk about in this post. Over these few years I’ve also heard some comments in regards to Sn@tch such as, “I would never set foot in a shop with a name like that” to “she only makes and sells alternative clothing like punk, grunge, goth, etc” to “the clothing would be too slutty for me to wear”, etc.

Firstly, not shopping at a store because of the name means you are missing out on some great stuff. I’d say about half of the designs are on the alternative side but more and more Ivey is coming out with some great “middle of the road” (that’s what I like to call it LOL) designs that appeals to everyone and you’re missing out. And Sn@tch wouldn’t even come to mind if I’m looking for something slutty to wear.

So I’d like to share a few items from the shop that you can find in anyone’s closet, no matter what their style is. This is just a sample of some great designs anyone can wear.

This dress is called “Dinner at 8″ and comes in 5 spring colours. It’s a beautiful cocktail dress for an evening out and comes with a solid top and for the more risque, a sheer top.

I consider a sweater dress a wardrobe staple and so much can be done with it. On the left pair it with a pair of leggings and flats for a casual look or on the right, a pair of thigh-high boots for a more sexy look.

This is one of my favourte shirts. In my RL I would have it in my wardrobe. It comes in 5 colours with 2 pairs of jeans (the blue I’m wearing and black). It’s very versatile and depending on what you pair it with, can be dressed up or down.

These next two looks are very summery. On the left brings me back to my teen years. I swear I spent most of my teen summers bumming around in cut-offs (not snatch shorts) and babydoll tops like this. And to the right the sweet calico skirts come in 5 different colours and the off the shoulder top appeals to the girly side in me. hah

And lastly, these great jeans and top. I’ve looked all over for a pair of hip hugger, low waisted jeans that did not have a huge butt crack showing. Almost impossible to find but in this outfit Ivey did it. You get a pair of white and back jeans and a black and white top. This is a basic outfit you’d find in anyone’s closet.

There you have it, just a few items some would never think to find at Sn@tch if they didn’t stop by to look. Go ahead, have a look you’ll never know, you may find that perfect item you’ve been looking for.

Deviance – my love for costumes

I first came across Deviance over a year ago while hunting for a costume for halloween. I don’t think I found what I was looking for at that time but I did join her group. Over the past year I’ve watched owner Surreal LeShelle grow as a designer. You cannot miss the quality of her work, and the costumes are a delight. Most of her designs are costumes but she has a small collection of leather pants and jeans that are, in my opinion, look great. Face it, we stare at our butts most of the time and I love the way mine looks in Surreal’s pants. LOL

Let’s get to what I really want to show you, her costumes. Below is a small selection of costumes and what I call regular clothing. Click on each photo will take you to a larger image for a better look if you’d like.

The Mistress is Surreal’s newest costume. The details are amazing and as with all her designs, everything comes on multiple layers. You also get the boots and a belt and dagger and you have several colours to choose from. I wanted a sexy dress without looking slutty and Surreal came out with Santa’s Sweetie. The outfit also comes with a hat. The boots come separately and are colour changing to match all the different colours.

This is version 2 of her French Maid’s outfit. You get so many options with this, 2 different tops and skirts, all layers. Everything fit perfectly. I didn’t have to adjust any prims. The pirate outfit is great. You can pick and choose from the tops, pants, scarf belts, hats, etc and make your own entire outfit. (the hat & hair in this pic is from another costume by another designer). I particuarly love the pants on this.

One of the sexiest witch’s costume’s I’ve seen. I have a stocking fetish so love these stripped stockings. The sheerness of this costume is very well done. As with all her designs, it comes in a multitude of colours. And of course, a sexy Playboy Bunny costume and yes, there is a fluffy white bunny tail included. I love this costume, its sexy without looking slutty which can be so easy to let happen. And loookkk pink bunny ears.

Surreal has some great fantasy costumes. Both the Seductive Sorceress and the Fantasy Warrior are great for role players as well as just someone wanting a costume for a party. These 2 costumes also come with a shape that the costume was made for so if you have trouble adjusting the costume to your own shape just slip on the ready-made shape. Again, multiple layers, sword and staff part part of their costumes.

And lastly, what I call her normal clothing. The little dress is called Flirtatious and includes the dress and a corset top to wear alone. And the jeans and leather pants I talked about earlier. They fit just right and come on all possible layers and in various colours.

I am excited to see what Surreal comes up with in 2010. A visit to her shop will not leave you disappointed.

Blue Blood Deal on Xstreet and Brand New Lazy Places Boots

Hello! My name is Kristian and I disappeared from the blogosphere for about a year. I have been actively enjoying my time in SL exploring and shopping and I decided to take a try again at blogging. This time I was lucky to get a couple review items so please bare with me since its been a while since I have blogged anything.

I have always been a fan of Ghanima Uriza’s work and I anxiously wait for her male releases. Today she just announced in her group that she is offering a special on Xstreet for this particular outfit I will show you today. It will be 29L for a couple days and then it will go back to its regular price of 300L.

As you can see the textures on this outfit is a work of art. As always Ghanima provides excellent artistry and primwork and at the price of 29L you are getting a really great deal. The outfit is available in several other colors inworld but personally I have always favored red and jumped for joy when she offered red as her 29L item of the week. The next item I want to show you is the Ankou Equine Boots that will premiere this weekend at the Shoe Fair, which officially opens on Sunday 11/22/09. Sakuradawn Lei of Lazy Places makes the most amazing boots I have seen and I was honored that she considered me to review this pair of boots on my blog. What I love about these boots are the spikes and the skull. I love how she integrated a dark and edgy allure into her boots. It is evident that Miss Lei is evolving in her style and I look forward in her future releases. Check out the texturing on these boots, they are pretty amazing. She was also kind enough to offer me a few poses to use in this blog post so all poses are courtesy of Lazy Places.

Last but not least I wanted to introduce you to a store that I just recently discovered and I think has become the replacement of my Den Dou skin. I heard about this store from my friend but I rarely pay attention to them because they are kind of spazzy and have strange tastes in clothing. On a whim I went to check out this store and found myself digging a few of the skins and hairstyles. I could only afford one skin and hair so far but I know that when I get more lindens I’m going back to get more. I would like to introduce you to [BURIED] Designs. They have clothing, hair, skins, piercings, and more. What I would like to show you is the hair and skin I purchased.

JRock style at Discord,[]Trap[], and Hair Fair!!!

In this post I attempted to dress a little more towards the styles that my favorite Japanese Rock Artists dress in. This is by far my first attempt and I think the end result came out pretty well in the end. In my journey to attain the JRock fashion that I idolize, I had made a trip to 3 different places. I had heard so much about the Hair Fair that launched this past Friday so I decided to give it a look. I found a really great hair from Calico Ingmann Creations that pretty much fit my definition of JRock.

Now that I had the hair, i thought to myself……hmm where can I get a great skin. So I asked a friend of mine and she suggested a store called []Trap[]. So I tp’d to that store and found a series of JRock skins to choose from. They had so many choices and it was so hard to just pick one. Once I picked my skin, I figured where can I go to get the perfect JRock style clothes.

I had seen on a another blog a post about Discord Nightmare City, so I decided to check it out. As I wandered around the sim teleporting to different areas, I came across the “new clothing street” and found the perfect outfit for me. I wanted something I would never normally wear that had some edge and carried out the vibe that I was trying to attain a different look. I was amazed at the prices and quality of the clothes available. I saw outfits ranging from 30L to 250L on the SIM. And most of these outfits were very detailed and had intricate prims attached.
